The Opportunity

Thinkingbox is hiring a QA Analyst to join our growing team in Vancouver, Salt Lake City, or Toronto. We are looking for an experienced individual who has a strong history of collaborating with the production and development teams through project development cycles and deliveries, with a focus on QA processes, particularly in a creative setting.

You are well versed in manual and automated testing methodologies and processes and have a strong point of view with respect to the use of tools and technologies to ensure a high degree of quality control. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience leading and mentoring. You will join a very close and collaborative team - we will enable you to continually grow and expand your leadership skill set.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Establishing detailed test plans and handcraft effective QA processes and practices that support broad team
  • Assist in streamlining and supporting project completion efficiency
  • Evaluate quality assurance tools, technologies, and frameworks in collaboration with the technology leadership team
  • Define and maintain quality assurance policies, processes, and procedures
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of QA Engineers, as well as any resources assisting with a particular project.
  • Create test strategies for large and complex digital projects
  • Document issues in bug tracking software
  • Assist the technology team and senior technology leadership management with other project-related tasks
  • Assist the strategy team with business development activities such as contributing to in-depth discussions about our QA process with clients or prospective clients
  • Create QA artifacts such as test plans and strategies with a focus on optimized testing coverage
  • Oversee the execution of test plans, monitoring, and reporting on test execution and quality metrics.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand product vision and requirements.
  • Understanding how all elements of the applications and systems will work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall strategy.
  • Maximize the development and use of automation testing to continuously improve testing efficiency, coverage, and delivery
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative findings from tests and monitor bug resolution efforts and track results and known defects
  • Assist with the maintenance and the development of the current regression test suite
  • Other duties as required.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years as a QA Analyst in a multiple project-driven creative environment
  • Good interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Design suitable test plans based on project requirements
  • Strong collaboration skills and works well with partners
  • Proven experience in balancing multiple projects
  • Proven technical skillset and an ability to learn quickly
  • Prior experience with non-functional testing (such as performance, compatibility, etc.)
  • Strong reporting skills i.e. QA Velocity, Future Planning, QA Progress
  • Ability to work with upper management and supply key facts and metrics
  • Experiences with Splunk or other log aggregation tools
  • Experiences with source control (Git, SVN, Perforce, TFS, etc.) and DevOps practices is a plus
